Our pack can always use help from the community, whether it's a financial contribution or a donation of your time or talent! We have many costs throughout the year to keep the pack running at a quality level. Some of our costs include hosting our annual Blue and Gold Banquet (a celebration of the anniversary of Cub Scouting) at no cost to the scouts and families, leader materials, meeting expenses (ranging from apple juice and glue sticks to plywood and plaster of paris!), camping costs, rocket launch booth materials, and scout service projects (such as Christmas cookies for Cross Road Mission and care packages for soldiers). We gladly spend hundreds of dollars on awards for our boys annually, and we also are the only pack in Yuma to buy uniforms and handbooks for our boys who would otherwise go without. In addition we do not require dues from our boys. We have fundraisers such as Scout Popcorn sales, Scout-o-rama and sponsoring flags on patriotic holidays, which is what we use to support the pack, but as we celebrate the accomplishments of our scouts, the expenses often out-weigh the funds raised. What can you do to help? There are financial contributions, of course, but we can also use donations of wood and hardware, sodas and snacks, banquet dishes from restaurants, craft items, your son's outgrown scout uniform, camping equipment of all kinds, the use of a great campsite (!), free zeroxing, and countless other things! If you think we can use it, or are unsure, e-mail us at cubscoutpack55@yahoo.com and ask!!! We also need people to help out in other ways! We need assistant leaders, committee members, guest speakers, and entertainment of any kind! We need places to go and things to see on field trips! We need experiences for our boys that will help them grow into honorable men. We need Scout Service Project ideas or aid. We need heroes, big and small!
